A holistic doctor takes a whole-person approach to healthcare, considering not only the physical symptoms of a patient but also their emotional, mental, spiritual and social well-being. Rather than focusing solely on treating specific illnesses or conditions, a holistic doctor seeks to understand the root causes of health issues and addresses lifestyle factors, such as diet, exercise, stress, and sleep, that may be influencing the patient’s overall health. This approach emphasises prevention, wellness, and the body’s natural ability to heal.
Holistic doctors often integrate conventional medical treatments with complementary therapies, such as nutrition advice, mindfulness techniques, or alternative treatments like acupuncture, depending on the patient’s needs and preferences.
They aim to create a personalised treatment plan that aligns with the individual’s life and health goals, fostering a collaborative relationship where the patient plays an active role in their own care.
The holistic approach can be especially beneficial for managing chronic conditions, stress-related illnesses, or patients seeking to optimise their well-being.
A private GP can refer to any private specialist or for private treatments. Most specialists require a GP referral before a new patient appointment.
No a private GP can only refer to a private consultant ( but we can request an NHS consultant appointment via your own NHS GP)
Yes
