Yin Yoga Classes in Ringwood
What is Yin Yoga?
About Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that involves holding poses for longer periods, typically between three to five minutes. Physically this practice targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones, and joints, to improve flexibility, circulation, and overall well-being. Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to more dynamic forms of exercise, offering a meditative approach that encourages mindfulness and relaxation and offers exceptional emotional wellbeing benefits.
Benefits of Yin Yoga
Enhanced Flexibility: Deep stretches help to lengthen muscles and improve joint mobility.
Stress Relief: The meditative nature of Yin Yoga calms the mind and reduces stress.
Improved Circulation: Long-held poses enhance blood flow and promote healing.
Balance & Harmony: Yin Yoga balances the body’s energy and harmonizes the mind and spirit.
Our Classes
We offer a variety of Yin Yoga classes to suit all levels of experience and personal needs. Each class is thoughtfully designed to provide a nurturing environment where you can explore your practice at your own pace.
Yin Yoga for Beginners
Perfect for newcomers, our Beginner Yin Yoga classes introduce the fundamental principles and poses of Yin Yoga. You’ll learn how to safely and effectively hold postures, focus on breath awareness, and cultivate a meditative mindset.
Yin & Yang yoga
This class combines the slow, meditative aspects of Yin Yoga with more dynamic, strengthening Yang Yoga. It’s an ideal way to balance the passive and active energies in your practice, building strength and flexibility.
Mindful Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra
Our mindful yin yoga & yoga nidra classes are designed for deep relaxation and healing. We start the practice with mindful yin yoga then move into a guided yoga nidra meditation to aid deep relaxation and rejuvenation.
Meet Michelle, our Yin Yoga instructor
Michelle Maslin-Taylor is an experienced yoga teacher, ayurvedic health coach and reiki master who specialises in supporting those struggling with stress, anxiety and burnout weaving together ancient practices tailored to modern life.
Her own yoga journey began over 20 years ago, starting with a purely physical focus but finding it to be a life-changing practice for overcoming her own depression and anxiety. Since then she has discovered a passion for continuous learning, co-authored Amazon best-selling books, been featured in major publications and taught her specialist workshops online and in-person in the UK.
Michelle believes there is no place for comparison in yoga and encourages students to work at their own pace with their body, exploring how it feels on any given day. Her classes offer a relaxed teaching style focussed on breath, asanas (poses) and reconnecting with yourself through a gentle weaving of mindful movement and meditation, aligned with the seasons.
